About
The intent was to make a smart wearable jacket that could either amplify your guitar/bass guitar sound or be a laugh track jacket to laugh at the wearer's jokes during armageddon. As much as my team in USC Makers wanted to complete it, it didn’t happen. Lost parts in the mail, a fully remote team, and generally being focused on our main USC Makers semester project quashed our goals. My team and I brainstormed a couple of ideas and settled on having our team member, Victoria, program a simple voice reactive graphic on one piece of hardware we did have - an Adafruit Clue. The morning of the day it was due, we were reminded we had to submit a video for mini-showcase. Having nothing, I filmed/edited a video before it was due. I called the project orange pelo suit jacket. This project would’ve further tapped my interest in wearables, but ultimately it wasn’t about wearables. It was about failure and creative redirection, something I learned to fully embrace.
